Plaid Overalls

No story here, except for the fact that Henry looks just darling in plaid overalls. Please stop growing up, sweet boy.

Dada is home!

Henry's favorite part of the day just might be when Dada comes home from work. He's plenty sick of me by then and loves spending time with Dada before bed. Our garage door is pretty loud when it opens, so that, accompanied with my loud exclamation, "Dada is home!", has taught Henry how to put on quite the show when Dada walks up the stairs.

I've probably watched this video 25 times and it still gets me every time. The eyebrow raise in the beginning, the shoulder raise in the middle, and the entire ending with arms raising and knee slappin'! Oh my heavens.

Henry is 9 months old!

Likes: Sucking my two right fingers all the time (I've pretty much given up my left thumb), throwing my arms up when I'm excited, crawling at lightening speed, pulling up to stand on anything I can get my hands on, ransacking the pantry for new things to shake around and put in my mouth, going to gym/music class with my church friends, one handed/one fisted clapping, eating pasta (I'm a good Italian boy), saying dada/mama/baba, listening to Mama sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider or the ABC's on repeat, kissing myself in the mirror, and hamming it up for the camera with my squishy grin.

Dislikes: Putting clothes on, taking medicine from a dropper (Mama and Dada basically have to pin me down), eating avocado, and having my face wiped after meals (I'm a typical boy).

Growth: I weigh 20 lbs., 15 oz., and I am 31.5 inches long. This puts me in the 53rd percentile for weight and off the charts AGAIN for height! I've slimmed down a bit since becoming mobile, but I just keep getting taller. While I love being the tallest baby in the world, this often poses a problem with my britches...they're either falling off my waist or I'm rocking high-waters!

New Year's Eve in Perry-dise

We spent New Year's Eve weekend in Perry, Georgia at Nanna and Grandpa's home. Before we could ring in 2011 with black eyed peas and collards, we had Christmas #2, and Henry received even more toys. We received some very nice gifts, but one of our favorites had to be the personalized M&Ms. If you look closely, you'll see Henry's face on them! That Nanna is pretty hilarious.

We also indulged in one of Nanna and Grandpa's Christmas traditions: banana splits for breakfast. Poor Henry got pea puree, but I just might let Nanna give him his first banana split next year.

It was a balmy 70 degrees in Perry-dise, so we spent a lot of time outside with the enormous Santa and Henry's future toy: the NBA regulation size basketball hoop. Grandpa is planning ahead, considering his grandson is already over 2.5 feet tall.

Our New Year's Eve was magnificently boring, or boringly magnificent, or something like that. Southern BBQ for dinner, a game of dominoes, and reading books curled up on the couch. It took a lot for Gus and I to make it midnight, but we did it just to say we did. 2010 was our best year yet and I'm eager to see what 2011 brings. Happy New Year!
