We drove to Rosemary Beach for Fall Break with Nanna and Pa. We made it just in time for a sunset swim in our clothes. Some of us enjoyed our toes in the sand more than others. In fact, it took Frances five entire days before she stopped screaming about sand on her feet. She spent a lot of time sitting in lounge chairs during the beginning of the week. But by the end, she was swimming in the ocean and taking walks down the beach. The boys couldn't get enough of the beach this year. They woke up asking to swim in the pool, ate breakfast, walked down to the beach, ate lunch under our umbrella, and wanted to stay out there until sunset. We had many friends and neighbors staying nearby, so the boys had lots of buddies to play with. They spent most of their time searching for sea creatures and paddle boarding. The Phillips Family was staying just down the street, and by the end of the week, John was asking if he could go to Chattanooga to visit Luke the next weekend.
Most mornings the kids were up before sunrise. One morning, I took advantage of the early wake-up call, and we were the first ones in line at Charlie's Donut Truck. And we arrived in our pajamas. Because we do not waste a minute when it comes to donuts.
We loved our beach trip so much, that we re-booked the same house for the same week next year. Thank you, Nanna and Pa for the wonderful week! We are already looking forward to next year. Hopefully Frances will too!
