Monkeying around with Dad

I finally caught Henry on camera chatting it up with his Dad. He is pretty talkative and loud these days (I knew he got something from me!).

Henry is 3 months old!

Likes: Sleeping through the night (10pm to 9am - Mama wants to know how she got so lucky!), sitting up in my Bumbo chair, squealing as loudly as I can, splashing in the bathtub, standing up (with assistance, of course), and putting my hands, elephant toy, bib, Sophie the Giraffe, washcloth, and other assorted things in my mouth and drooling all over them.

Dislikes: A cold bottle of milk (I used to not care, but now I request a warm bottle), the video camera, and red lights (I only like riding in the car if it's moving).

Growth: I weigh 14 lbs., 5 oz., and I am 26 inches tall. This puts me in the 60th percentile for weight and the 97th percentile for height. Let's just say I am getting quite used to the question, "Are you going to play offense or defense?"

Twins for a Day

One of my girlfriends has boy/girl twins, Victoria and Asher, who are four weeks older than Henry. She works full-time and needed a substitute nanny for a day, so I volunteered to take one twin, while another girlfriend took the other. I knew I could handle 2 on 1, but 3 on 1 was a bit scary when they're all under 4 months! I think Henry enjoyed being around another baby, as he kept reaching out to grab her hand or push her with his foot (I quickly explained that we don't kick our friends). I certainly have a whole new respect for Mama's of twins after just 10 hours with these two!

My Country, 'Tis of Thee

Henry was very busy and very patriotic on his very first Fourth of July. He walked in the Marietta parade to support his favorite gubernatorial candidate, Nathan Deal (remember to vote in the primary on July 20!). He also met his friends for dinner at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park, lounged by the pool in his car seat, and smiled for a photo shoot in his patriotic outfit. No fireworks this year, however. They were past his bed time. Maybe next year.

You talking to me?

Recently Henry found his voice. It started with little gurgles and coos, and has turned into loud squeals and giggles. It's the sweetest thing I've ever heard. This is just an audio file because Henry recognizes the video camera now and gets camera shy as soon as I pull it out. He's a smart little bugger.

Henry's Baptism, Part 3 of 3: The Main Event

Henry was baptized on June 27th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. His godparents are his Uncle Christopher and Aunt Stacie. Henry cried when he was baptized, but what can you expect when the Holy water is ice cold? After the baptism, everyone came back to our home for a southern barbecue luncheon, complete with a candy buffet (featuring Oh Henry! candy bars) and cake. It was a very special day for our family and we felt truly loved to have everyone there to support Henry.

Henry's Baptism, Part 2 of 3: The Outfit

Henry wore the most precious, white cotton outfit for his baptism (granted, I think everything he wears is precious). His "look" was completed with a white bonnet and knee socks. If Henry has a brother one day, he will wear the same outfit for his baptism. After all, I do have a thing for traditions.
