Our Tiny Dancer
This week I had shingles (yes, at 36 years old 👵🏼), and I nearly died. Then Frances had her first dance class yesterday, and I actually died. I’m dead. The little shoes and the baby bun killed me.

Girls Day!
Last week we missed the boys. Today we are having too much fun to miss them. Target, Starbucks, and the Nail Salon made for the perfect Girls Day Trifecta!

Back to the Books!
Peter's first day of Pre-K4! He was up at 6AM because he couldn't wait for "his turn" to have sprinkle pancakes and the "First Day of School" song. And he is thrilled to be going to school five days a week now, just like his big brothers. Frances, on the other hand, feels like she's missing her other half. I get it, girl. She was not happy when we got back in the car, and she realized Peter's carseat was empty. We survived the morning with some retail therapy. Peter was all smiles when we picked him up, and as always, very chatty about his first day. He has the same Pre-K4 teachers that Henry and John had, so we know the classroom well. And of course, after school there were warm, chocolate chip cookies waiting at home for him too (and chocolate milk, as he requested).

No Float!
Peter had a big weekend - he started swimming with no backfloat! He is actually the earliest swimmer out of our boys. And I am not surprised because since birth he has been driven to be bigger and stronger and faster than those big brothers of his.

A Last Date
Last date with my last boy before he starts his last year in preschool. Hopefully it’s not the last time he asks to hold my hand.

A Special Name
Yes, John already had homework on the first day of school. And yes, it is the sweetest homework that I ever did see.

First and Third!
First day of 1st grade and 3rd grade for John and Henry! We had to get up before dawn, but the boys hopped right out of bed. I don't know if they were more excited about school, or their breakfast of sprinkle pancakes. They were kind and didn't even roll their eyes when I sang the traditional "Happy First Day of School" song to them. We quickly got dressed, tamed their bed head, and ran outside for some pictures before catching the bus. I had trouble getting any photos in focus because they were so excited to leave us. The send-off crew was all smiles, but they sure are going to miss their big brothers today. Henry and John came home later that afternoon with smiles on their faces. Mainly because they liked their new teachers and classmates, but also because they remembered the post-first-day-of-school tradition: warm chocolate chip cookies and milk as an after school snack!
