A Simple Life

Henry is 10 months old!

Likes: Waving hello and buh-bye, reading 'B is for Bear' (I have a thing for books about bears), clapping when I'm happy and I know it, eating finger foods (my favorites include pinto beans, blueberries, turkey meatballs, and pumpkin pancakes), climbing up the stairs, cruising around furniture, playing peek-a-boo (I love to hide my head to the side where no one can see me), swinging at the park, sticking my tongue out, being tickled on the bottoms of my feet, and standing on chairs, toys, and boxes (this one raises Mama's blood pressure).

Dislikes: Baby gates, getting my teeth brushed, child-proof locks on cabinets, and having my diaper changed in public (even though I enjoy pooping in public).

Growth: I weigh 22 lbs., 4 oz., and I am 32 inches tall. This puts me in the 60th percentile for weight and STILL off the charts for height. While I have changed quite a bit in the past 10 months, I have been consistently (and incredibly!) tall.

Then and Now

Henry has some great friends, but those friends' Mamas are really something else. We are just weeks away from starting to celebrate some first birthdays in the group and I couldn't help but take a look back at how far we have come. Motherhood ain't easy, but it's the most important job God gives you, and thankfully God has blessed me with some pretty fabulous co-workers.

Quite Dashing

We had dinner plans that included Henry last weekend, so I sat him down and told him that he must be on his best behavior. Of course he was a perfect gentleman, and he even dressed the part in his first pair of suspenders (and matching cardigan!). Thanks to Aunt Margaret and Uncle Skip for the lovely dinner and Grandma Makris for the dashing outfit!

Easy like Sunday Mornin'

On a typical Sunday morning in our home, you'll find bed head and stair climbing and flannel pajama pants and cheese grits and Ke$ha dance parties and reading Elmo books and a nekkid baby. It sure is a good time.

Day at the Park

We've had some beautiful weather the past couple weekends, so we have spent a lot of time at the park. Henry loves crawling around in the dirt, eating grass, and swinging way up high with help from Dada.

Hardy Har Har Har

Henry has the greatest little chuckle. To me it sounds like the laugh of a baby crossed with a 90 year old Grandma who smokes a pack a day. And it cracks me up. We play a whole lotta peek-a-boo in this house because that seems to get the most chuckles.
