Class of 2028

Henry graduated from preschool on May 14th, 2015. He worked hard and he tried hard and he's ready for Kindergarten. Seeing your five year old wear a graduation cap and hold a paper diploma is nothing short of tear inducing. After the graduation ceremony, we told Henry that we were taking him out for ice cream to celebrate. He jumped for joy! And he enjoyed every taste of ice cream, down to the last drop.

Hola!

Henry has been learning Spanish at preschool. His class performed a sing-along show last week. I think he was a little nervous during the first song. I'm pretty sure he was just mouthing "watermelon, watermelon" the whole time. But he warmed up by the end.

Peter the Sleep-eater

Peter is in that weird baby phase where he still needs two naps a day, but sometimes he only takes one. This gives him a bad case of narcolepsy. He puts himself right to sleep in the middle of lunch. But that doesn't stop him from shoving food into his mouth.

Papa, Mimi, and Zia, oh my!

Papa, Mimi, and Zia visited us last weekend. On Saturday, we spent a rainy day inside with books, games, and legos. That evening we left the boys with our three wonderful babysitters so Gus and I could attend the Georgia Chamber Gala at the Capitol. Or as I called it, the Amy Grant concert. We ended the evening with a nightcap at Waffle House.

The next day was sunny and beautiful, so we took the boys to the zoo. Henry's favorite animal was the tiger. John's favorite animal was the gorilla. And Peter's favorite animal was the elephant. The train ride was a big hit with all three boys. But when we passed the petting zoo, Henry and John immediately plugged their noses and asked, "what's that stinky smell?" We did not pet any animals after that. We did ride the carousel. Henry chose to ride the tiger and John chose to ride the bench. Don't be fooled by the non-moving bench - John acted like he was on a roller coaster.

After the zoo, we ate lunch at the Varsity. "What'll ya have?" took awhile to answer because our boys were starving. And Gus had to make two trips back to the counter for more food after we thought everyone was done. Henry and Peter wore their hats. John wore his chocolate milkshake. We had a wonderful Atlanta weekend with some of our favorite non-Atlantans!

It's always fun to share good news with people you love. They're happy for you. And we decided to capture that happiness in the following video. (Apologies to Alex & Anna as well as Joe & Abby who, due to technical difficulties, didn't make the video.)
