Snow day!

Atlanta shut down last weekend. Schools let out early, the grocery stores were out of bread and milk, and the Governor declared a State of Emergency. We hunkered down at home and waited out the storm.  The next morning we woke up to a whopping one inch of pretty, white snow. The boys were ecstatic! We rummaged through the attic to find our snow clothes and headed outside. Even Frances got to enjoy her first snow. The boys lasted a record setting 18 minutes before begging to go inside the warm house for hot cocoa. They are clearly still Southerners at heart.

Goals

My goal for 2016 is to be more like my son.

Frances is 3 months old!

Likes: Sleeping curled up on my side, grabbing toys on my baby gym, chewing and drooling on my hands constantly (and sometimes gagging myself), eating exactly 4 times a day every day, being in the middle of the action (I love watching the chaos that comes with 3 big brothers), and being tickled under my chin.

Dislikes: I do not like to nap for more than 45 minutes at a time. I love to sleep 12+ hours at night, but I have FOMO (fear of missing out) during the day. Mama is perplexed as all my brothers loved (and still love) taking long naps. You would think these short naps would make me cranky, but I'm still my happy, sweet self!

Growth: I weigh 13 lbs., 1 oz., and I am 24 and 3/4 inches long. This puts me in the 50th percentile for weight and the 95th percentile for height.  I'm already wearing 6 month size pajamas so I can comfortably stretch out my long legs!

Singing, Reading, and Chatting

John likes to sing but he doesn't like an audience. When no one is looking, he likes to belt out some Christmas carols while playing legos, in his underwear, with a giant stuffed cheetah sitting on the table.

The only time John will sing for us is if he is singing his favorite song to his little sister. Oh my darlin', Frances Anne.

Peter loves to read books. His current favorite is Where the Wild Things Are. And he likes to make wild noises while reading it.

Frances is the happiest baby. She's quite chatty too. I'd say it's safe to say she gets it from her Mama.

A Very Longo Christmas

We rang in the New Year with Papa, Mimi, and Zia. We didn't celebrate New Years though. We just pretended it was Christmas all over again. We ate our traditional Italian feast on our Christmas Eve. And Papa read 'Twas the Night before Christmas to all his grandkids. The boys could hardly contain their excitement over having their 3rd(!) round of Christmas presents, so they were up before the sun the next morning. They wasted no time tearing into the pile of gifts from Papa, Mimi, Zia, Great Aunt Cathy, and Great Uncle Joe. There were more Skylanders, Hot Wheels, Legos, trucks, mazes, and books. And some sound machines that made some very inappropriate noises that little boys love to laugh at. As usual, Frances was the last one to wake up and open her gifts. She got some darling outfits from her favorite shop, books, toys, onesies, and her first baby doll. We spent the rest of the morning putting together toys and playing. It was a wonderful way to cap off the Christmas season.
