Three Little Turkeys

We celebrated Thanksgiving at Aunt Mary's in Middle Georgia. We were lucky enough to have my cousins and their kids attend this year. Henry and Reagan were attached at the hip. Reagan even introduced Henry to the Skylanders video game. Henry was disappointed to find out that Santa does not bring video games to four year olds. John was enamored with Aunt Mary and Uncle Bobby's Christmas tree. He sat under it and admired each ornament. And Peter was held by almost every family member there, so he was in heaven.

At dinner, not one of our three turkeys liked eating the actual turkey. Henry liked the cornbread. John liked the mac-n-cheese (which is considered a vegetable in the South). Peter liked the mashed potatoes. And to top off their carb-a-licious dinner, Nanna made each boy a candy turkey. We drew the line at letting Peter dig into his. Next year, boo boo bear.

Peter is 9 months old!

Likes: Eating toast, hummus, watermelon, blueberries, cheese, waffles, puffs, grapes, grilled cheese sandwiches, yogurt, and bananas, screaming when I'm happy or sad (I am the loudest Makris baby there ever was), pulling up on everything, crawling on all fours only when I'm naked (I don't like dragging my bare belly on the ground), shaking the vitamin bottle like a maracas player, playing peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake.

Dislikes: Falling (I do this a lot now that I can pull up), eating meat or pasta, getting dressed, and not being held by my Mama 24/7 (my happy place is perched upon her hip like a koala bear).

Growth: I weigh 19 lbs., 11 oz., and I am 29 inches long. This puts me in the 55th percentile for weight and the 85th percentile for height. I have only 1 more inch to go before I outgrow my baby carseat!

Papa likes fish!

Papa, Mimi, and Zia came to visit us for Papa's birthday, as they do every year. We pack a lot of fun into two days - running wild at Catch Air, exploring at the park, playing trains/cars/planes at home, reading books, and blowing out candles twice! Henry demanded a "special breakfast" on Papa's birthday, so we sang over cinnamon rolls that morning. And there was more singing over Papa's fish cake in the evening.

Deedee!

A couple weeks ago, Peter tried his first "deedee", or rice cracker. When Henry was a baby, he could eat a box a day. Bebe John didn't care for them. So I knew it could go either way. Peter agrees with John, and spent more time playing with it than eating it.
