Four Little Turkeys

We celebrated Thanksgiving at our home this year with Nanna and Pa. It was the first time that we did not travel on Thanksgiving. As much as we missed our extended family, it was nice being able to wake up at home, watch the parade with the boys, cook in our pajamas, and relax the rest of the day. And I was really proud of us. Nanna and I cooked almost everything from scratch. Henry and John set the table. Gus and Pa entertained the kids with pirate ships. We sat down to eat at 1230pm. By 145pm, all the dishes were done, the leftovers were put away, and we were ready for naptime. With 4 kids, you have to run an efficient turkey dinner. Or in my kids case, a Chick-fil-a nugget dinner. My kids don't eat turkey, but one day they will. In the mean time, I'm thankful for Chick-fil-a so my kids eat more than just rolls on Thanksgiving.

A staring contest

We spend a lot of time staring at her. And a lot of time arguing over her. "Mama, make her look at me now! He got a longer turn than me!"

Frances is 1 month old!

Likes: Smiling at my silly brothers, cooing when people talk to me, napping in the rock-n-play, being carried by Mama in the ergo, laying on the changing table, and taking baths.

Dislikes: Having my first cold (thanks to my germy brothers), sitting in the swing, and going anywhere in my carseat.

Growth: I weigh 9 lbs., 11 oz., and I am 22 and 1/4 inches tall. This puts me in the 60th percentile for weight and the 95th percentile for height. I am the first Makris baby to not have feeding issues during my first month. And every doctor that I've seen has commented on how long my legs, fingers, and feet are!

All smiles!

Frances Anne is the happiest baby. I noticed small, random smiles from her in the hospital. And they continued once we came home. Now she looks us right in the eye and gives us big, happy grins while cooing away. Her baby book will not list a date for her first official smile since she was basically born smiling. Not a bad problem to have.
