A Double Birthday Celebration

Papa, Mimi, and Zia visited in between the boys' birthdays.  Poor John was recovering from an ear infection during the first few days of their trip, so we hung out at home a lot.  But we did venture to the park, where Henry played and John enjoyed strolling with Papa (who sang to John to keep him happy).

On Saturday, John was feeling better, it was a beautiful day, and Touch-a-Truck just so happened to come to Sandy Springs.  Henry ran through the parking lot to get to his favorite: the firetruck.  Then it was the church bus and the mini bulldozer and the ambulance and the police hummer and the highway rescue truck and the truck the telephone company drives around. Then it was bouncy houses and gym equipment. They had fun. Later, we snapped a family photo where 2 out of 4 of us were actually looking at the camera.  Miracle, I tell you.

We celebrated the boys' birthdays with dinner at OK Cafe (a family favorite) and Thomas the Train/Elmo cupcakes.  The boys opened their gifts later that night.  Henry received the Sir Handel train and news that a Kiwi Craft Crate would be arriving in the mail for him soon.  John received a farm animal toy and a beautiful wooden rocking horse.  Once he grows a few more inches, he'll enjoy that horse even more.  Thanks, Papa, Mimi, and Zia!

A Puppet Party

Last weekend we celebrated Colin's 3rd birthday and Will's 1st birthday with a puppet party at their house.  Now that Henry understands what a birthday party involves, he loves them (mainly for the cake).  This party was no different, and our boys consumed a total of 3 pieces of pound cake between them.  The puppet show was a hit too.  Henry, Colin, and other party guests served as lovely puppeteer assistants.  Later, the boys enjoyed Colin and Will's new playground in the backyard.  It was a beautiful day to celebrate two sweet friends!

Bubbles!

My children lose their darn minds when bubbles are involved. So when the Easter Bunny brought a bubble gun, they were chomping at the bit to get outside with it. Henry was the master bubble gun operator and John was the master bubble popper/squealer. The fun lasted until the bubble solution ran out. Best $3 I've ever spent.

Dinner and Dancing

We are regulars at our local Chipotle. It's fast, fresh, and I don't have to clean up the mess on the floor (this is crucial when feeding my children rice, beans, and shredded cheese). My boys love Chipotle, mainly for the food, but also for the music. This is evident from John's black bean beard and dance moves.
