The Merry Makris Family

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Merry Makris Family! Some of us were more merry than others. One of us actually required multiple photo shoots to coax out any semblance of a smile. I won’t name names (it rhymes with prances and she's wearing red).

Peter the Performer

Frances and I attended Peter's preschool Christmas performance. Out of all my kids, Peter is not shy when it comes to performing, so this show was highly anticipated. He knew all the words, all the hand motions, and he gave me the biggest smile and wave at the end. If you look closely on the videos, he is in the red reindeer sweater in the middle near the top and the kid in a bow tie is standing right next to him.

Henry the Entrepreneur

Today was third grade market day, and Henry’s Holiday Snow Globes were a hit! Despite my aversion to crafts involving glitter, he knew anything with glitter would sell, and he was right. He might need to work on his customer service for future business though, "Sold out! Now go away!"

Twinning

Not only did she insist on wearing matching clothes, but she also wanted a photo of it. I will enjoy it now because I know in a few years, she will prefer algebra homework to this.

Deck the halls!

Last weekend, we had our annual deck-the-halls party in our new house with Christmas music, new pajamas, hot cocoa, and "fancy" Pepperidge Farm cookies. We put up three Christmas trees this year. Our family tree, which is filled with ornaments constructed of the very finest pipe cleaners, clay, and popsicle sticks. Our Charlie Brown Christmas tree from our old apartment, which reminds us to be thankful for our new home. And a new pink tree, which is for you know who. She squealed when she saw it. "It's so pretty, Mama! And it has a bow like me! Can I give it a hug?"
