Peter's Baptism

Peter was baptized on Palm Sunday, April 13th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He wore the same baptismal romper that Henry and John wore. And John wore the same tap-dancin' church shoes that Henry wore. And Henry's sport coat came from a consignment sale. We love hand-me-downs in our family.

Peter's godparents are Kevin Thrower and Carly Whatley. Kevin is my cousin and my godmother's son. Carly is my dear friend from high school. We were honored that they both traveled from out of town to be there.

Peter did not cry during the baptism (fitting, since he loves bath time). John fell asleep on Gus' shoulder before the baptism even started. And Henry had to be kept from playing with items at the altar. Deacon Bill has baptized all three of our boys, so he knew to expect an "entertaining" baptism.

After the baptism everyone came back to our house for lunch. We enjoyed a taco bar from Willy's (Henry and John's favorite meal) and some Makris party staples: punch, cake, and candy. Then Peter passed out on Great Aunt Mary. Luckily the big boys were happy to help Peter open his gifts.

Happy Birthday Buckaroos!

Last Saturday Henry and John had a rootin', tootin', good ole' time at their cowboy birthday party. Cowboy boots are their footwear of choice, so the party theme was an easy choice. Even Peter showed up to party with his boots on.

We held the party at The Farmhouse in the City - petting bunnies, feeding chickens, crafting bracelets, painting pottery (and faces and hands), riding bikes, and hunting candy. We ended the party with my homemade chocolate-chocolate chip cowboy cake. The lil' buckaroos can't get enough chocolate.

After the party we went home to open gifts with the grandparents. The boys were spoiled with golf clubs, books, trains, a barn, and new bikes. Yippee-ki-yay!
