Singing in the Rain

They couldn't believe I was letting them play in the rain.  They have such joy for such simple things.

Peter is 5 months old!

Likes: Sucking on my two fingers, sleeping on my belly, barrel rolling across the floor to get around, putting everything in my mouth, being held on Mama's hip, laughing at my crazy big brothers, being tickled on my belly or thighs, and sitting up on my own for a few seconds.

Dislikes: Being woken up from my nap by loud babies at the gym play center, sucking on a paci, and having my nose wiped.

Growth: I weigh 16 lbs., 13 oz., and I am 26 and 1/2 inches tall.  This puts me in the 70th percentile for weight and the 80th percentile for height.  And I'm still pretty much bald, yet beautiful.

2 out of 3!

Twenty-eight months after he arrived, John said goodbye to diapers!  I wasn't planning on potty training him for months.  Henry taught me not to try too early.  But John is a determined child, and he was determined to change my plans.

We spent five days in potty training boot-camp at home.  The hardest part was being on house arrest with all three monkeys.  The actual potty training part was a breeze, thanks to some inspiration from Henry.  Little brother wants to be just like big brother, and that worked to my advantage.  We celebrated the milestone with a playdate at Catch Air and lunch at Chick-fil-a.  And John kept his Thomas the Train underwear clean and dry all day (not counting the melted ice cream he spilled all over himself).

Sweet Brothers

Last week I was standing in the kitchen when I heard, "John, want to sit on my lap and read a book?" I snuck around the corner of the playroom to watch this take place.

I give my boys funny nicknames. Henry is Bubba. John is Buddha. And Peter is Boo Boo Bear. Henry has picked up on this and how it makes Peter laugh. Henry also knows that if he says, "Hey Buddha!" when John walks by, John will get mad and yell, "I not Buddha, I John!"

Pure Michigan with the Longo Family

Our stay at the Longo lake house was dreamy. The big boys woke up at the crack of dawn each morning ready to take on the day's new adventures. Lucky for us, Mimi was happy to greet them each morning at 6:30 to play trains and feed them breakfast. Papa, Mimi, and Zia kept Henry and John busy - fishing, swimming, building sandcastles, kayaking, tubing, and slip-n-sliding. Peter took his first swim in the pool. He even went under. He should be ready for his first tube ride next year.

Peter wore the same mint green romper that Henry and John wore when they met Great Papa for the first time. And, yes, the monogram has been changed three times. We spent time with many other family members and friends while at the lake house. We visited with Ms. Niki, Mr. Joe, Miss Hannah, Great Uncle Joe, Great Aunt Cathy, Great Grandpa Guilbault, Great Grandma Guilbault, and cousin Nikki. Peter was spoiled rotten with all the cuddles. He wouldn't let me set him down during our first day home.

Henry and John had their first taste of 'smores, too. Henry thought the 'smore was too messy and asked that the components be separated. I wonder who he got that from. John took down two entire 'smores and then asked for 'smore.

Lastly, I captured two videos from our trip. Each one is a performance from our boys. Henry reciting a poem that Gus taught him. And John doing what he does best - cleaning his bowl.
