That afternoon, we had Henry's Lego Birthday Party at our neighborhood clubhouse. Henry invited all the boys from his class, a few neighborhood boys, and his cousin, Reagan. A Lego company actually came to the party and provided all the Lego entertainment - Lego games, a Lego scavenger hunt, building competitions, and a motorized build. Elementary age boys love their Legos, and this was by far the quietest birthday party we have ever hosted, thanks to all the Lego building. Peter and Frances (and Aunt Mary and Uncle Bobby) got in on the Lego building too. At the end of the party, we enjoyed some snacks, and Henry's cake. Henry doesn't really like cake, so he requested a cookie cake. It's the first time I made a birthday cake and cut the entire cake up before serving it at a party, and had to put it all back together again. Henry loved it and has requested even more complex Lego designs for his cookie cake next year.
After the party, we went out to dinner with Nanna, Pa, Aunt Mary, Uncle Bobby, Amy, and Reagan. Henry wanted his favorite meal - a hot dog. He's a simple guy with simple taste. We went to Cook Out, where Henry had a hot dog, fries, and a milkshake. John enjoyed every last spoonful of his milkshake. And Peter took care of feeding Frances for us so we could enjoy our milkshakes. After dinner, we came back home so that Henry could open his presents - Legos and more Legos! And this awesome marble game from his cousin, Reagan. It was a full day of birthday celebrating, Legos, and sugar!
