A Wedding and Our Favorite Place

We moved up our annual summer vacation to Michigan this year so that we could attend Scott and Wingyee's wedding. We had the best time spending a night away in Detroit. Things have certainly changed a lot downtown since our Detroit wedding ten years ago! And we danced so much at the wedding that my feet still hurt the next day. It was a fabulous time!

We got away for a second time when Mimi, Papa, and Zia offered to watch the kids again so that Gus and I could spend a few days at our very favorite place - The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. And it was certainly grand - no cars, fudge every day, a dress code, and dancing in the parlor after dinner. It will be a fun place to bring the kids one day, but until then, we'll enjoy it all to ourselves.
