Just another day in Perrydise

Last weekend we headed to Nanna and Pa's house for some good ole' Middle Georgia fun. Only in the South would you find a barefoot little boy and his Daddy riding a lawnmower down the street. (Mama forgot to pack his shoes. Klassy!) And only at Nanna's house would you find doughnuts frying on the back porch. I'm pretty sure Nanna served Henry dessert after every meal. In the pool, Henry blew bubbles and floated on his back. The swim lessons must be working.

Later in the day, the whole family came over for dinner and to celebrate the birthday of my cousin, Kevin. Henry played trains with Uncle Bobby, and John received the attention of the ladies like a gentleman.

We ended the day with a few pictures of the boys. Henry was kind enough to share his thumb with John.

John is 5 months old!

Likes: Playing in my exersaucer, grabbing my feet, taking two to three short naps and one long nap per day, being sung to, sitting up on my own for a few seconds, gnawing and drooling on anything and everything, doing the worm to move ever so slightly across the floor (so I can steal Henry's toys), flirting with the gym daycare ladies, and sucking on my orange hospital pacifiers (I have moved on from the wubbanub).

Dislikes: Having my nose wiped, losing my hair on just the sides (I'm not big on the mohawk look), napping while Mama is on the go, and eating from a bottle (I'll do it if I'm hungry enough, but I don't like it).

Growth: I weigh 18 lbs., 5 oz., and I am 27 and 1/4 inches tall.  This puts me in the 85th percentile for weight and the 90th percentile for height.  For the first time in my life, I am in a higher percentile for height than weight!  You wouldn't know it from looking at my roly poly thighs though.

Colin's Lakehouse

We spent last weekend at Colin's Lakehouse on Lake Lanier. Henry was in heaven. He had been counting the days down for weeks. (Every Publix cashier knows about "Tolin's Lakehouse. Drive boat fast.")

The boys explored the island and swam in the lake and threw rocks and played with trains and trucks. It was fun to watch Henry and Colin play with one another, as opposed to play next to one another. After a long day of playing, the boys curled up on the couch together and shared some some popcorn (and trucks) to watch Thomas the Train before bed.

Maybe one day John and Will (born just ten days apart) will be best buds like their big brothers.

The Sweetest Thing

If you are looking for the sweetest thing, I found it.

Click the video below and follow along. Here is the translation. Henry says, "All done. Now Bebe John, bath. Henry get bath. Henry's turn. Bebe John's turn. Get out. Baby. Wahhh. Tears. Bebe John. Uncle Chris. Colin's lakehouse. Dentist. Morning. Night night. See light, Bebe John. Turns around. Makes circles. Round and round and round. Colors, Bebe John. Green. Orange. Blue. Ooo. All fall down. Orange uhh. Red uhh. Blue uhh. Green uhh. Chair. Red Chair. Water. Sit chair."

Then I am spotted and, a couple seconds later, the very best part happens: "Wuv him." Be still, my beating heart.
