Tour de Michigan 2011: Lake LeAnn with the Longo Family

After we scarfed down cider and donuts, we headed to the Longo Lakehouse on Lake LeAnn. If Henry could speak in sentences, he would have said "forget the lake, take me to the trampoline!" Papa and Zia would bounce him up and down and he would crack up! We also took our first family tube ride. We played it safe by putzing around the cove, but Henry wanted to live on the edge - literally. Gus showed off his water skiing skills once again, but this time I just so happened to catch a major wipeout on camera. Ouch!

After a couple days, Gus and I packed up our bags and headed north again to Mackinac Island. It was our first time leaving Henry overnight, and from the 300 photos Mimi took, it's safe to say that he had a great time without us. He learned the word "boat" and was rewarded by getting to drive Papa's boat. He swam at Aunt Cathy and Uncle Joe's pool (he received private swim lessons from Mimi). Chef Henry helped Zia and Aunt Cathy make ravioli, and it looks like he had more fun playing with his food than eating it. He also came home with some new tricks: winking and spinning around on command.

Thanks to Papa, Mimi, and Zia for allowing us to get away for a couple days and for making sure Henry had a blast!

  1. Looks like an absolutely spectacular time was had by all! Henry has turned his back on being a toddler, he's looks so much older. Terrific pictures, thanks for sharing.
