John's Special Day

Before Baby Mak's birthday, I had a "special day" with each of the boys. It isn't often that I get an entire day of alone time with only one of them.

John and I had our date first. We spent the morning at the mall. Our mall isn't just shops and a food court. There's a train, a carousel, and the only store a toddler ever needs - The Disney Store. John handed out hugs to every stuffed animal. He surveyed several toys, eventually settling on a Mickey Mouse camera. Pretty fitting since yours truly loves her camera.

Next up was the train ride. John inspected each car before choosing to ride in the blue car because it was just like Thomas (or "Ta-ta") the Train. John doled out waves and flirty eyes to all the ladies we passed during our ride. Then we hopped aboard the carousel, where John chose a white horse to ride. He is a natural equestrian. After John's favorite lunch (cheesy noodles), we went to to the ice cream shop. John chose chocolate ice cream with rainbow sprinkles.

He may not understand how life is about to change, but he made our special day pretty darn special.

What a beautiful day. John's face shows that he loved each and every moment, this is so wonderful that you do this with your boys. Thanks for sharing.
