On the morning of her first birthday, Frances awoke to a crib full of pink balloons. And her three big brothers, who stormed into her room and jumped in her crib to start the celebration. It wouldn't be a birthday in our house without sprinkle pancakes, but this was the first time they were pink! Frances looked unsure as we lit the candle and started singing. Then the tears started. She quickly stopped crying once she had her first taste of pancakes. Frances is typically not a big breakfast eater. But she made an exception on her birthday since breakfast involved pink sprinkles. The boys were in pancake heaven too.
The rest of the day was packed full of fall activities at the boys schools and in our neighborhood, so we waited until the next day for our girl's big birthday bash!
