John screams, Peter screams, we all scream for ice cream!

When we were trying to come up with ideas for John and Peter's joint birthday party this year, John said, "I don't care what kind of party it is, as long as there is ice cream." And so it was settled. We invited John's preschool class, and Peter's neighborhood/gym friends to join us for an ice cream party at Yogli Mogli. The boys colored with their buddies until everyone arrived. Then we played "Pin the Cherry on the Ice Cream Cone". The younger kids were throughly confused with all the spinning and blindfolding, so the older kids dominated the game. Then it was time for a tour of the kitchen. We saw where the ice cream was made, and how they clean the machines. And then we saw the vats of toppings, and with that, the kids were ready to make their own creations. John specifically requested that his favorite flavor, Blackberry Mountain, be on the menu that day. Peter didn't care what flavor he had, as long as there was plenty of candy on top. Henry won for largest ice cream creation. And Frances was not interested in eating ice cream at all - she only wanted to hang out with Uncle Bobby. After the ice cream, I had to make sure the kids had enough sugar, so we had cupcakes. One of the mother's actually said to me, "I promised my son there would be no cake at this party since it was an ice cream party and that would be too many treats." Clearly she doesn't know me very well! Finally, the kids ran off their sugar highs with their ice cream poppers in hand. Those poppers might have been the biggest hit of the party!
