Picasso Pumpkins

The boys are not quite ready to carve pumpkins (and will not be for some time), so this year we went back to the paint. Henry enjoyed it so much that he painted his pumpkin and his clothes and his hair and my pumpkin and Daddy's pumpkin. I didn't mind. Gus may have, but he is a big boy, so he can deal. John painted, too. We tried to get John to put his hand print on a pumpkin, but that proved to be too much, especially as he tried to eat the paint off his hand. Thanks to my little Picassos, our porch looks so very lovely to welcome our trick-or-treaters!

John is 7 months old!

Likes: Army crawling all over the house, twirling my hair to fall asleep (just like my big brother), talking/ranting whenever I get mad, eating veggie purees (I don't have a favorite because I clean the bowl every time), belly-laughing at Henry, getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth, trying to put cords and shoe laces in my mouth (Mama has to watch me like a hawk), chewing on my sippy cups, and copying any sounds (or screams) that Henry makes.

Dislikes: I typically cry for only three reasons: I'm tired, hungry, or someone is wiping my nose. Keep me rested, full, and snotty, and I'm the happiest baby around.

Growth: I weigh 19 lbs., 4 ounces., and I am 28 and 1/4 inches tall. This puts me in the 50th percentile for weight, and the 90th percentile for height. Even with my hearty appetite, I have managed to slim down, thanks to my rigorous routine of daily army crawling.

LFP comes to GA!

Last weekend we had the pleasure of a visit from Luke Fisher Phillips and his wonderful parents. Luke has grown so much since the last time I saw him.  He has a darling set of cheeks that just beg to be pinched (and kissed). The boys tolerated a quick photo shoot before playing and drooling together in the playroom.

When I sat down to upload these photos, I couldn't believe how much my boys look like brothers. It really is something to have not just one good looking man in your life, but three.

My loves.

Just when I think I can't possibly love these boys anymore than I do, they do this:

Best Buddies

My boys love each other. Now that John can move, he follows Henry all around the house. Even to the potty, where they sit and laugh at each other. The potty part should explain why Henry has been sans pants in the most recent videos. We are in the very early stages of potty training, which is hard enough, so why bother with pants?

The Pumpkin Patch

Last Sunday was the first day that it felt like fall in Atlanta. It was a crisp 65 degrees outside, and that weather calls for a trip to the pumpkin patch. The boys were dressed for the occasion, thanks to Nanna. Henry was far more interested in the farm animals, tractors, and hay bales than the pumpkins. I told him that he could pick out any pumpkin that he wanted. He ran to the closest bin of pumpkins and picked the first one his hand touched. A true boy. John had his hands and mouth all over the pumpkins. And the hay, wood chips, and sticks. Poor baby is cutting his first tooth, and apparently gourds help relieve the pain.

Bon Appetit!

Last weekend John enjoyed his first meal of solids (not including his bib). I whipped up a delicious bowl of rice cereal. After some hesitation, John began to dig in, reaching for the bowl and the spoon. I have a feeling my little sweet tater is going to lick the bowl clean once we work our way up to some of Mama's homemade purees.
