A Very Georgia Christmas

Santa comes early to our house. We travel to Michigan at Christmas, so we celebrate at home before we leave. Nanna and Pa came to our house to celebrate with us. Santa got it right and brought each of our boys what they requested. Henry got cowboys and indians and pilgrims (a very custom request), a magnifying glass, and Skylanders (just the toys). John got puzzles, books, and Daniel Tiger's trolley. Peter got a ball popper, toothbrush, and more bibs. And the gifts kept coming from Nanna and Pa. In a matter of minutes, the keeping room was covered in toys and wrapping paper confetti. John prefers to unwrap his gifts in very small pieces of ripped paper. And Peter prefers chewing on that paper instead of playing with his gifts.

We gave the boys their annual ornaments. Henry's ornament was a shark because he started swimming all by himself this year. John's ornament was a puzzle piece because he became a puzzle savant this year. And Peter's ornament was a koala bear because he's a "Boo Boo Bear" who likes to be perched on my hip.

With all the gift excitement, Henry and John forgot about Nanna and Pa's traditional Christmas breakfast. Gus asked the boys what they would like for breakfast and they replied, "cheerios and cereal" and "peanut butter toast." Their faces lit up when Gus told them, "Hmmm, how about banana splits and reindeer doughnuts instead?" Of course, this was the one morning they asked for seconds of breakfast.  Peter chowed down on waffles and blueberries. It is a step up from pureed pears, so he's getting closer to that banana split.
