Peter's 3rd Birthday

Peter was really into his birthday this year. He had been counting down the days. He spent a lot of time learning how to very carefully hold up three fingers. He was so happy and thankful on the morning of his birthday. Every time someone would wish him a happy birthday, he would thank them. And he also made sure to remind Henry and John, "It's not your birthday. It's MY birthday" all day long.

For the 2nd year in a row, Peter asked for a Daniel Tiger celebration. He also requested chocolate sprinkle doughnuts for his special breakfast. Peter ate his with a fork. Frances picked off the sprinkles and ate those. Henry and John each ate three doughnuts.

After church, we let Peter choose our lunch spot. He picked Moe's (our kids have a thing for that place). After plenty of tacos and chips, we came home to open gifts. Peter received a Mister Rogers magnetic set, a Daniel Tiger tshirt, Georgie the robo dog (as close to a pet that our family will get), Wild Kratts DVDs, and lots of Little Critter books. Then it was cake time. Peter asked for "a berfday cake with Daniel Tiger's face on it." I made it happen in the wee hours of the morning (in between stamping campaign mailers), but the lack of sleep was worth it after I saw the look on his face. Happy Birthday, sweet P!
